A debate is ensuing in the papers on Umras by the government high-ups at public expense. I simply wonder, who are they trying to cheat? The masses? May be, yes. But God Almighty? Certainly not. Do they think even in their wildest dream that Allah SWT will bless them for their such Umeras? Now here is a true story. Before signing the award of a contract a high government official almost begged the contractor shamelessly to arrange for his fully-paid free visit to the foreign country to 'inspect' the stores there, including five-star hotel accommodation and a lucrative free shopping spree while there.

The contractor left with not much choice agreed to foot the bill. And, lo and behold, then the official dropped the bomb. "Could his ticket be re-routed through Jeddah for the return for him to perform Umra?!"
